We are beginning this blog as a way for faraway family and friends to keep up with Mia as she grows. She has already been such a blessing to us and we want to share that blessing with you.
Mia was born on July 22 2009 and welcomed into our family through open adoption. After receiving a call on Wednesday the 22nd we traveled to VA on Thursday and left the hospital with her on Friday. After staying in VA for a week for paperwork to clear we came home to NC and were greeted by my mom (Jill, aka Nana) and a host of other friends. We have now spent a week settling Mia into her nursery and life here in Durham. In addition to all the wonderful packages people have sent us, today friends threw us a shower. So many people in so many different ways have supported us through these last 2 &1/2 weeks and we are deeply grateful for their love and care.
